Niagara-on-the-Lake Lord Mayor Betty Disero is wishing everyone a safe and happy long weekend.
In a video posted on the town's YouTube page, she's also encouraging everyone to remain vigilant.
She says we're seeing low numbers of COVID-19 in Niagara-on-the-Lake and across the rest of the Region but we can't let our guard down.
She's stressing the importance of masks, physical distancing and hand washing especially with schools reopening next week.
Disero is wishing teachers a successful start to the school year and she's encouraging them to stay healthy.
She is also encouraging parents to make sure their kids wash their hands and face after school each day.
