Ford government asks for ICU nurses
The federal government has approved a request to send members of the armed forces to hospitals in the province overwhelmed by COVID-19 patients.
This after the Ford government asked for specialized nurses who can assist in intensive care, as well as other medical personnel.
The Canadian Armed Forces is sending reconnaissance teams today to assess specific needs in certain hot spots.
Meantime, Newfoundland is sending health care workers today, including critical-care nurses, a nurse practitioner and three doctors.
One of the doctors is the wife of Premier Andrew Furey.
