Canada's Inflation Rate Drops Slightly

It drops by a tenth of a percentage point from October to November

An ever so slight drop in Canada's inflation rate.

It went from 6.9% in October to 6.8%  last month, despite rising grocery prices.

Statistics Canada says grocery prices shot up 11.4% from a year ago.

Slower price growth for gas and furniture was offset by rapidly rising shelter costs.

Mortgage interest costs were 14.5 per cent higher in November on an annual basis, while rent was up 5.9%.
