A ruling has been made in the 2018 Toronto van attack that left ten people dead and 16 others injured.
A judge has found Alek Minassian guilty of ten counts of first degree murder, and 16 counts of attempted murder.
The defense tried to argue that due to Minassian's autism spectrum disorder, he wasn't criminally responsible for the incident, even though he admitted to planning and carrying out the attack.
Ontario Superior Court Justice Anne Molloy stated that Minassian had a "functioning, rational brain" and he spent time planning the attack as well as weighing potential consequences.
He's due back in court on March 18th.
