Super Flower Blood Moon This Weekend

Total lunar eclipse Sunday night

Don't forget to look up Sunday night you might catch one of the most anticipated skywatching events of the year, a blood moon.

A blood moon happens when a full moon is in a complete lunar eclipse, turning the moon a reddish-orange color.

The super flower name refers to the fact it is happening in the spring.

(It's called a beaver eclipse if it happens in the fall.)

The upcoming lunar eclipse is North America’s first total lunar eclipse in two years.

The eclipse will last for just over 5 hours, beginning around 10:30 over Ontario and end early Monday morning.
