However, a loss by Scranton to Lehigh Valley sealed the deal for the Herd.
The Bisons still have three games left in the regular season
And what a season it's been.
When the Toronto Blue Jays couldn't cross the border at the start of the season they moved the Bisons to Trenton so the Jays could play at Sahlen Field.
The Herd played 42 games away from home before the Jays were finally allowed to move back home to Toronto.
After the next three games against Rochester, the Bisons will compete in the leagues 10-game "Final Stretch" playoff.
