Legendary actress Betty White has died just weeks before her 100th birthday.
The world has lost a television icon.
Betty White, whose legacy includes roles such as Sue Ann Nivens on "The Mary Tyler Moore Show", Rose Nylund on "Golden Girls" and Elka Ostrovsky on "Hot in Cleveland", has passed away at the age of 99.
Her death was confirmed by her agent Jeff Witjas.
The legendary actress was a pioneer in television, and founded her own production company and served as co-creator, producer and star of the show "Life With Elizabeth" in the 1950s.
White remained popular into her later years, and in 2010, fans launched a successful Facebook campaign for the actress to co-host "Saturday Night Live" after the actress appeared in a popular Super Bowl commercial.
During her decades long career, White won several awards, including five Primetime Emmys and two Daytime Emmys.
The actress would have turned 100 on January 17th.
