Police still looking for a former Canadian Olympic athlete, who was born in Thunder Bay, turned drug lord
A major breakthrough by police in Canada and the US in targeting an international drug operation, with ties to a Niagara Falls murder.
Niagara Regional police were called April 1st to the Epworth Circle and St. Lawrence Avenue area, to find 29-year old Randy Fader shot, with life threatening injuries.
He died at hospital.
Yesterday, the FBI announced in Los Angeles they've charged three men, also wanted for cocaine trafficking, spanning across Colombia, Mexico, the United States and Canada.
34-year old Andrew Clark and 23-year old Malik Cunningham have been arrested, while 43-year old Ryan James Wedding, a former Olympian for Canada, remains at large.
He competed for Canada in snowboarding during the 2002 Salt Lake City games.
The FBI says it's offering a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to the arrest of Ryan Wedding.
Police add a couple murdered in Caledon last November were innocent victims, killed by mistake, in retaliation for a stolen drug shipment. Their daughter suffered serious injuries.
Wedding and Clark have been living in Mexico, where Clark was arrested. Cunningham was picked up by police in Toronto.
