Canadian auto workers facing the same next week
Waiting to see what 18,000 Canadian auto workers do, now that roughly 13,000 of their American counterparts are on strike.
The strike began overnight after the United Auto Workers and Detriot's Big-3 could not come to an agreement on issues including pay.
Pickets are at a GM plant in Missouri, a Ford factory in Michigan, and a Stellantis Jeep plant in Ohio.
This marks the first time the union has ever walked out on all three companies simultaneously.
Four-year contracts with the companies expired just before midnight, while in Canada worker's contracts expire Monday night.
