Actor Johnny Depp Wins Defamation Case

Jury unanimous in decision

Johnny Depp has won his defamation case against ex-wife Amber Heard, who he sued over claims of domestic abuse.

The jury has awarded Depp $10 million in compensatory damages and $5 million in punitive damages.

The 58 year old actor sued his ex-wife for $50 million for an article she wrote in which she claimed to be a victim of domestic abuse.

The jury did rule in favor of a counterclaim Amber Heard filed after Johnny Depp’s lawyer called her abuse allegations a hoax.

She was awarded two million.
