Police still looking for a 2nd suspect
Police have one man in custody, and are looking for another, after an attempted kidnapping and robbery last month.
Police say on June 27th, three men were standing outside a bar on Main Street in Niagara Falls, at around 2:15 in the morning, when one of them pulled out a gun, demanding another one get into a vehicle.
When the victim refused, the two suspects tried to force him, assaulted him, but the victim escaped, with non life-threatening injuries.
Police add the suspects were able to take some jewelry.
Yesterday, police searched the Culp Street and Drummond Road area and found about $9,600 worth of cocaine and some money.
They also arrested 22-year old Jared Patcheson, charging him with:
- Robbery (Firearm)
- Kidnapping
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
- Possess Schedule I Substance for Trafficking (Cocaine)
He remains in police custody pending a bail hearing today in St. Catharines.
Police are working to identify the 2nd suspect, and would like to speak to witnesses they believe were at the scene of the crime on Main Street.
