NRP responded to scene in St. Catharines, for individual with gun
Some tense moments in the Vine Street and Ricci Avenue area of St. Catharines yesterday morning.
Police were called at around 9:30, to the Tasker and Queenston Street area concerning someone with a loaded gun.
Police learned who they were looking for, and tracked him to the Vine Street area.
When police approached him for arrest, he reached for his gun, but they still took him into custody.
Police then searched the Clara and Taylor Street area of Thorold, where they found:
- Handgun
- $1993 in Canadian Currency
- 416.10 grams of suspected fentanyl
18-year old Codee Lamure-Vanduzen of Thorold faces a long list of charges:
- Possess Firearm Without Holding a Licence
- Possess Restricted or Prohibited Firearm Knowingly
- Firearm, weapon, ammunition careless use (2 Counts)
- Prohibited or restricted firearm: with ammunition
- Weapon, possession for dangerous purpose
- Weapon: carrying concealed weapon
- Firearm: tampering with serial number
- Firearm: possession contrary to prohibition order
- Assault Peace Officer with a Weapon
- Possession of Proceeds of Crime Under $5000
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance FTP (Opioid Fentanyl)
He has a bail hearing today in St. Catharines.
