Prime Minister announces first round of sanctions against Russia.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has revealed initial sanctions against Russia.
Earlier today, Moscow lawmakers authorized President Vladimir Putin to use military force outside of the country, which could signal an attack on Ukraine.
Trudeau says Canadians are being banned from financial dealings with the states of Donetsk and Luhansk.
Members of the Russian parliament will also be sanctioned.
As well, as part of Operation REASSURANCE, the country is also sending out 460 troops to Latvia.
