The provincial state of emergency will not be extended past February 9th.
At a press conference today, Premier Doug Ford stated that the decision to end the state of emergency is due to a downward trend in COVID-19 numbers.
As a result, the colour-coded COVID-19 response frame work will be gradually reinstated.
Niagara will enter the framework on February 16th, and until then, the stay at home order remains in effect for the region.
There will be some changes for non-essential businesses when they open.
Retail outlets in grey zones will be allowed to re-open with 25 percent capacity.
In the meantime, Ontarians are urged to follow all public health advice, including staying at home as much as possible, avoid social gatherings and work at home if possible.
