Only a small crew left to assist clean up efforts at site of former Welland House Hotel
After nearly three days at the scene of the fire, St. Catharines Fire Services completed it's firefighting operations today.
At its peak, about 50 firefighters were battling the flames, including crews from Thorold and Pelham.
A crew remains on hand to provide support during the clean up process.
The Ontario Fire Marshal's team has left the scene as well, but the investigation into the cause continues with the support of the NRP and St. Catharines Fire Services.
City officials also note as the cleanup continues, temporary road closures remain in place around the property due to debris and safety concerns.
Updates on the reopening of roads, as well as the reopening of the Ontario Street parking garage, will be provided on the City’s social media channels.
