Regional Chair Jim Bradley, was glad to hear that province will not be forcing amalgamation on Niagara.
He released a statement yesterday, applauding Minister Steve Clark and the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing.
Bradley welcomes the province's commitment to work with municipalities, to support locally made decisions when it comes to governance.
He says Regional Council can now focus on what matters most; delivering programs and services to residents, businesses and visitors in Niagara.
