The Ontario government is providing some vaccine options for residents who received AstraZeneca for their first dose.
Effective tomorrow, Ontarians who got one dose of the AstraZeneca shot can choose to get AstraZeneca, Pfizer or Moderna for their second.
These second dose choices will be available at the recommended 12-week interval.
Those who wish to have AstraZeneca for their second dose can contact the pharmacy or healthcare provider where they received the first shot to book an appointment.
Individuals who wish to receive Moderna or Pfizer can contact a participating pharmacy offering those vaccines for their second dose appointment.
In addition, those who received AstraZeneca as their first dose can register for a "second dose only" at a 12 week interval via the provincial booking system.
This comes after the National Advisory Committee on Immunizations said it is safe to mix and match first and second doses.
