NRP Investigating Sexual Assault in Welland

The NRP is asking people to stay away from the trails in the Prince Charles Drive and Fitch Street area in Welland.

Officers are investigating a sexual assault in the area.

A woman is her 40s was allegedly attacked by a man while she was jogging at around 7:00 a.m. this morning.

Police say the woman sustained minor injuries and the man took off on foot afterwards.

He's believed to be white, about 5'5 and he was wearing dark pants and a black hoodie at the time.

The NRP is asking anyone with surveillance cameras or dash cameras in the area to check their footage and contact police if they spot anyone matching this description.
