Hospital system experiences a global first
Niagara Health has become the first hospital in the world to purchase Indigenous-supplied medical gloves.
The gloves were manufactured by PRIMED Medical Products and distributed by by Certified Aboriginal Business Medical, Surgical and Safety Supplies (MSS) Ltd.
Niagara Health says this symbolizes its commitment to economic reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples.
"We want to show our commitment to Economic Reconciliation," says Sue Nenadovic, Niagara Health’s Director of Strategic Sourcing and Logistics. "We’re actually taking action that starts us on a critically
important journey."
The gloves have PRIMED's logo, as well as the Indigenous stylized bear branding that is associated with MSS.
