MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred announcing opening day has been canceled, and several regular season games will be lost due to a labour dispute.
The sides met for 16 and a half hours on Monday, sending a 'best and final offer' earlier today, which was rejected by players.
Opening day was originally scheduled for March 31st.
This will be the ninth work stoppage in baseball history that has resulted in the cancellation of regular season games.
