According to the Canadian Press, Mississauga Mayor Bonnie Crombie is forming an "exploratory committee" for a potential Ontario Liberal leadership bid.
ONTARIO - The mayor of Mississauga is thinking about entering the leadership race for the Ontario Liberal Party.
The Canadian Press has confirmed that Bonnie Crombie is forming an "exploratory committee" for a potential leadership bid. She served as a Liberal M-P from 2008 to 2011 before becoming the mayor in 2011.
Former Liberal Leader Steven Del Duca stepped down after last year's election when the Liberals only captured eight seats and failed to secure official party status. He's now the Mayor of Vaughan.
Members of the Ontario Liberal Party will select their next leader through a ranked ballot on November 25th and 26th. The new leader will be announced on December 2nd.
