A $20 million statement of claim has been filed in a class-action lawsuit against Lundy Manor in Niagara Falls.
It alleges that officials at the retirement home did not implement social distancing measures soon enough.
Eighteen people have died at the facility during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Niagara Region Public Health declared an outbreak at Lundy Manor on March 30th.
The statement of claim was filed by Will Davidson LLP on Tuesday.
It’s calling for $10 million in damages and plus another $10 million for breach of contract and wrongful death.
