The federal government has awarded nearly $300,000 to a project that will bring together local sexual and gender diverse communities.
The "Informed, Inclusive, Indivisible: Collectively Advancing 2SLGBTQ+ Equality in Niagara" project is being done by OUTniagara, with funding from the federal Department of Women and Gender Equality.
One of the top goals of the project is to work with community groups and partner agencies to establish a Regional Advisory Committee consisting of members of Niagara's 2SLGBTQQIA+ community.
The committee will participate in a community strengths and needs assessment that will lead to community programming, partnerships and supports such as skills training and arts workshops.
More details on the project can be found here.
