The by-election is today
There's a provincial by-election in Hamilton Centre today.
Andrea Horwath had held the seat and a predecessor riding since 2004 and consistently won with wide margins.
The former Ontario N-D-P leader stepped down after the party lost last year's provincial election, and she's since become Mayor of Hamilton.
N-D-P candidate Sarah Jama is expected to win despite being put on the defensive over some of her activism.
Earlier reports indicated turnout for advanced polls was low.
