The plant will go quiet for three weeks starting on Monday
The plant is one of six Ford facilities in North America that will see production cuts because of a shortage of semiconductor mircrochips.
The global shortage is blamed on the pandemic which has led to a huge demand for electronics including laptops and gaming consoles.
This is yet another blow for automakers at the plant.
Last year the GTA facility closed because of the coronavirus.
