Police say they stopped about 650 vehicles, every driver passed, but they caught 2 people using phones
More people have been caught using their cell phones while driving in Niagara.
This happened while Niagara Regional Police held two RIDE checks last night, one was in Lincoln, the other in Thorold.
Police stopped about 650 vehicles, and had 21 drivers give breath samples, looking for impairment by drugs or alcohol.
Fortunately, all drivers passed.
However, two drivers were caught using their phones while driving, and one of them had the phone mounted to the dashboard, above the steering wheel, and was watching a video, while driving.
Both drivers were charged.
