Property taxes could be going up for Niagara homeowners.
The Region's Budget Review Committee approved a 5.85 percent tax increase last night.
This means the average homeowner, with a home valued at about $277,000, would have to pay an extra $85 a year on the Region's portion of their property tax bill.
But Regional Council still has to approve the increase, which is included in the 2020 budget. They will be meeting on Thursday December 12th.
