Start Me Up Niagara offers services and programs to individuals who face significant life challenges to provide them with opportunities to stabilize, participate and grow. Start Me Up Niagara’s Mobile Closet is a program of SMUN, a mobile service born from the pandemic that provides free, new/gently used clothing and other daily necessities to the unsheltered and low-income population in the Niagara Region.
Hygiene poverty is an invisible crisis affecting our community. Many people face the daily dilemma of deciding between “heat, eat, or health.” Making these hard choices can lead some to forgo necessities that many of us take for granted, such as diapers, feminine products, shampoo and deodorant.
Our event on September 22, 2024, is to collect hygiene items to distribute at our free shopping events through out Niagara.
